Information from Superintendent's Desk H1N1 Virus Info (Modified 02-24-2010)
- If your child received the first round of H1N1 vaccinations, and IS UNDER 10 YEARS OF AGE, he or she will need a booster. Placer and Nevada Counties will again offer these vaccinations at no charge in the coming weeks. The dates will be contingent on when the supplies of vaccine become available from Placer and Nevada County.
- Nevada County: The Public Health Department is continuing the distribution of the H1N1 vaccine; it is free of charge and is now available by appointment at the Public Health Clinic at 10075 Levon Ave., Suite 207, Truckee. Call 582-7814 for an appointment.
- Children ages 6 months through nine years should receive two doses of H1N1 flu vaccine (separated by approximately 4 weeks apart). Persons 10 years of age and older should receive only 1 dose. Please take a moment to read a letter from the Placer County Health and Human Services Department. It provides guidance on what parents can do to protect their children from the virus.
